Brief

Our client asked for a new kitchen, however after our first visit we could see the potential of the ground floor if we removed the internal wall between the kitchen and dining room. The front reception room needed simple decoration and new furniture throughout.

Design

The challenge for this project was the tight budget so we decided to keep the existing UPVC windows. We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room, blocked off one window in the kitchen to create more cupboard space and privacy. The design of the peninsula kitchen with breakfast bar still allowed space for a dining table and small sofa overlooking the beautiful garden.

Style

To keep costs down we bought an ‘off the shelf’ handleless kitchen, in a light putty colour and by using a beautiful white quartz worktop it gave the whole kitchen a quality feel. We laid new laminate, wood effect flooring throughout the ground floor to connect the spaces, painted the walls in a neutral colour and styled the furniture in a mid-century style to make the rooms feel bigger.
