Marie Kalsi Interior Design was appointed to design furniture packages and schemes for eight eco-friendly serviced apartments in Richmond in 2015. The ‘boutique hotel’ design was to appeal to professional clients looking for a stylish base in London, whilst creating a ‘home from home’ feel for guests, who were away for long periods of time.

Delivering interior design for serviced apartments requires paying particular attention to issues such as practicality, durability as well as creating the look and feel of the apartments.

Following the success of this partnership we were then hired to produce the next fourteen eco-friendly apartments in Farnborough, with the addition of designing the electrical specifications to ensure each apartment had the right ‘flow’. We were also asked to renovate certain apartments within their existing portfolio to try and establish a brand that their guests would come to love and recognise.

Due to budget constraints we couldn’t have the same furniture in all apartments, we therefore created a brand by introducing the brand colours through soft furnishings and by promoting the eco-friendly offering of the business. Finally, our hard work was recognised when our clients were shortlisted for a prestigious award at the Serviced Apartment Awards in 2020.
