Brief

After renovating our client’s bathroom in London, Graces Road project, they asked us to update various rooms within the home. In the end we pretty much touched every room in their house! In the hallway our client wanted to add character by introducing some paneling. The large spare room was to be the main guest bedroom and therefore needed a new bed and bespoke storage. The smaller spare room had to double up as a spare bedroom but mainly to be used as a reading & yoga room. The attic room was an office and again needed a glow up to suit our clients taste and updating the bespoke storage. Finally in the master bedroom we decorated and added bespoke wardrobes to complete this project.

Design

Through designing our client’s bathroom we knew they weren’t afraid of colour which is why we chose the warm blue/grey for the paneling with a paler colour above to keep the narrow hallway feeling spacious, to really lift the space we added the black and white striped runner carpet with a gold binding to give that pop of colour and with the stunning pendants the hallway was complete.

In the larger spare bedroom we designed the bespoke headboard to be the main feature of the room and highlighted the amazing fabric by choosing a complimentary colour for the walls. The bespoke storage on the right was all for shoes as the room only allowed for a shallow cupboard where as the left wardrobe could have full hanging space for all their coats. In the small spare room we chose a calming colour palette to ensure the space created a relaxing environment. For the master bedroom we simply chose a new colour palette and built bespoke wardrobes.

Style

Our clients loved to be bold in colour and glamorous in style so for the hallway the beautiful pearl and gold pendants from Lights & Lamps really set the theme for the whole house and the black and white striped stair carpet really added a playful element to this design. The paneling and doors were painted in Farrow and Ball De Nimes, the staircase in Railings and School House White for the walls. For the small spare room to create the calming colour palette we chose Farrow and Ball Cromaty for the walls and Mizzle for the panelling which added some character to the space. The Sit and Sleep sofa bed was not only practical but also stunning. The Scandinavian style sofa bed really helped complete the calm interior to this room.

In the large spare room we chose a House of Hackney Fabric to be the star of the show with Farrow and Ball Light Blue for walls and Oval Room Blue for wardrobes. The vintage bedside tables really helped frame the stunning bed and with the beautiful lighting from Pooky the room was complete. For the attic room we designed bespoke shelving to go into the odd shaped alcove and really had fun with the colours from Little Greene, Lamp Black for the woodwork with Yellow Pink as the accent colour and the walls in School House White. With the addition of this amazing chair from Sternzeit, which sat on top of this iconic black and white rug from Soho Home, this office is now one to talk about during those Zoom meetings! For the master bedroom we chose paints from Paint & Paper Library Nether Red for the walls and French Dark Grey for the wardrobes which were finished off with the brass handles from Corston.
