The space between the current kitchen and dining room had already been opened but not to its full potential. Our client wanted to utilise the current large dining room more and to design the space in keeping with the amazing architecture of the building.

To maximise the space we moved the kitchen into the current dining room as this allowed for a much larger kitchen plus an island with breakfast bar. We opened up the old fireplace to house the range cooker and in the other room we reinstated a fireplace to really give this room a focal point. To increase the grandeur of this space we simply lifted the opening between the two rooms by 30cm taking particular care to replace any architrave, covingĀ  & ceiling roses so the works carried out looked like they were all original.

We designed a bespoke kitchen in a shaker style with cabinets painted in Farrow & Ball Wimbourne White. Allowing for two larder cabinets and lots of floor to ceiling storage.

We continued the design into the dining room to create some alcove storage on either side of the new fireplace. With antique glass splash-back, herringbone oak floor and a pop of red from the bar stools this classic design reallywill stand the test of time for many years to come.
