Brief

During lock down our client wanted to create more warmth in their living room, a toy storage solution in the kitchen and to create a seating area on an unused roof terrace with a few soft furnishing purchases.

Design

In the living room to keep costs down we simply painted one end of the living room in a deep blue to add warmth and to create a connection throughout the rest of the room we painted the skirting and doors in the same colour. At the other end of the room we bought a deep blue velvet sofa to compliment the existing light blue sofa.

In the kitchen bay window we created a bespoke seating area that allowed for toy storage underneath and also created a soft seating area great for entertaining.

For the roof terrace, we replaced the dated spindles of the railing with more modern ones and painted it in a dark grey as well as the decking. On one side of the fence we built up the height to create some privacy and to hide unsightly waste pipes by simply adding horizontal battens to create a bespoke fence.

Style

In the living room the client wanted a ‘grown up’ space with a reading corner. Building on some of the soft furnishings they already had we created the reading corner by adding a ‘Moroccan’ style glass side table with a brass lamp next to the leather armchair and some indoor plants. With the addition of a new rug, sofa and lampshades we created a really relaxed, warm adult space.

For the roof terrace we created a cosy, warm oasis with lots of plants and lighting to create that perfect space for a cocktail or two enjoying the last of the evening sun.
